CANCELLATION-Prairie View Christian Church Bible Class-Tuesday February 9, 2010

Good evening,

Prairie View Christian Church is canceling Bible class for Tuesday February 9, 2010 due to the snow storm that is hitting the eastern Iowa area. The snow will be accompanied by 30 mile an hour winds Tuesday evening, thus resulting in poor visibility and driving conditions. Classes will resume Wednesday February 10, 2010.

Good afternoon,

Prairie View Christian Church will be cancelling Bible class this evening Wednesday January 20, 2010 due to the ice storm that is hitting the Cedar Rapids area this afternoon and this evening. We will resume classes Thursday January 21, 2010 weather permitting.

Prairie View Christian Church is cancelling service this evening Thursday January 7, 2010 due to the snow storm and 30 mile an hour winds that are forecasted for this afternoon, which will cause icy roads and drifting snow, blocking many roads during the course of the evening.

Remodel Progress Report

Things seem to be going quite well.

Saturday: the pews were removed, walls were calked, areas taped off, and the ceiling was painted.
Sunday: all the walls were painted and prepped for trimming.
Monday: (today) they began painting the trim and the pews were brought into the basement and 7 of them were stained.
Tuesday: (tomorrow) painting the trim, staining and repairing pews will continue.
Wednesday: will be finishing up staining and repairing pews, cleaning up and preparing for carpet.
Thursday: The carpet people are coming to tear up and install carpet
Friday, Saturday: reinstall all pews. PROJECT COMPLETE!

The lighting and ceiling fans were delayed. There is a 6-8 week delay on lighting and the fans really need to at least match somewhat the lights. For now we are going to replace the bulbs with hopefully less offensive ones. We will be replacing the fans in the very near future.

Thanks to everyone, for their hard work, food donations and prayers.

Good afternoon,

Prairie View Christian Church is canceling Bible Class for Wednesday December 23, 2009 due to the forecasted storm and also to allow Pastor Bill to fly out Wednesday morning in order to get back East to see his family. Otherwise he will more than likely be stuck in lovely Chicago for Christmas...Merry Christmas.

Class is still on for this evening Tuesday December 22, 2009.

Remodel Update

Food is being taken as a whole day donation now rather then on a time schedule. There is no "set time" for eating. Eating is not going to be as sit down meals with everyone stopping to eat...it will go throughout the day so workers can eat when it is convenient for them. This way the work we are doing does not stop. We only have a week for this project which is very large for the time we have allotted for it. We realize it is Christmas and New Years also, that is another reason why time is so important and also why we needed a very structured scheduled from you all. Please, once again we are asking you to email us back what days you are willing to work, the times and food donations if any. This needs to be taken care of before the project begins. We are trying to avoid at all cost a unorganized project for everyone's sanity.

Food donations are now being scheduled on a daily basis. Meaning: volunteer for supplying one of the following items for a whole day of feeding up to 30 people for that day...food will need to be there by 10:00am that day of your donation or if no heating is needed (crock pot etc.) then the previous day that you signed up for is fine too. Items to sign up and supply for a whole day are: Meat, chips, dip, pop, water, cookies/desserts. You may pick one or all, your choice. Kitchen help we are not having sign up for now that we have so many holes from sheets not turned in.

Thank you...all are still welcomed to come and help even if the sheet is not filled out...If there is work to be done we will put you to it.
